Jan Buruma – 35 years travelling
Swedish T-shirt at Rio de Janeiro’s Copacabana Beach
I love travelling. Most of all to not so usual places. It keeps my body, mind and soul sharp and fresh. And it gives me great ideas for Exclusive Color Full Drawings.

Put your valuable items in a hotel safe
New York and Moscow (Москва), many years ago, were overwhelming. Though the tiny Statue of Liberty souvenir, that I bought in a Manhattan shop, had a stamp “Made in China”. Moscow has, apart from its Red Square (Красная Плошадь), little to offer. And currently it is closed to any visits.

Great – a restaurant’s color full menu card.
The White Nights (белие ночи) in St. Petersburg were an eye opener. It was bright day light at 2 AM in June. My Russian at that time was little so I did only partly enjoy my visit to the main book shop Дом Книги.

Color Full Hotel Room
Stockholm was a surprising archipelago. Though my museum visit failed due to the MidSummer closure. In Copenhagen I liked the colorful Nyhavn houses.

Put your waste in the waste paper bin
In Kiev (Київ) is the impressive Lavra orthodox church complex (Печерська Лаврa) a must-see, after the war. The Irish bar at the airport feels just like tiny Dublin.

Do not forget to take the right travel plugs
Lviv (Львів) in Ukraine (Україна) has a lovely small airport, you don’t have to wait at belts to collect your luggage. After the war it is worth a flight.

Make sure you do put your waste into the waste paper bin
Though my all time secret favo is the Bulgarian town Veliko Turnovo (Велико Тьрново). It is wonderful to take a walk on Tsarevets Hill (Царевец) and look deep down at the Yantra (Янтра) river, that snakes through the town. The very best are its lovely houses, built up against the hills.

I do like local car’s number plates
